4 Reasons Why I Love Wix More Than Squarespace and WordPress

I love Wix so much that I became a certified Wix expert now known as a partner who helps other entrepreneurs make stunning websites that don’t just look good… they also generate traffic and sales.

Many clients initially approach me asking about Squarespace and WordPress sites but I always encourage them to consider whether Wix might better suit their needs.

Now don’t get me wrong. Squarespace and WordPress are both good, viable options but in my opinion, Wix blows the website-building experience way out of the water… especially for non-technical entrepreneurs.

Here are my top four reasons why I love Wix.

1. It’s Easy

Wix is designed to be a user-friendly, drag-and-drop website builder. You don’t need to know code. You don’t need tech support on speed dial (though if you did, Wix support is great!). You just need to know how to use a mouse to drag and drop and you can build your own Wix website.

Squarespace is also pretty easy to use so I’ll give it a point for user-friendliness. On the other hand, although you may not need to know code with WordPress, it’s not as user friendly. You still need to be technical know-how to make your way around its platform.

Bottom line: Wix is super easy to use. No technical knowledge required - for real.

2. More Design Capability within Wix Editor

Choose one of the hundreds of templates designed for your industry or build your own from scratch. Unlike with Squarespace, everything is customizable in Wix. Don’t like the size of a column or the location of a text block? You can move it around and adapt the template to your preferences.

You can also choose from the preset color schemes or get creative and choose your own. You can review my guide to choosing colors for your website here.

Some may argue that you can probably do this with WordPress but it is an infinitely more complicated process than dragging and dropping and you need to have some technical know-how to fully navigate the WordPress eco-system.

Bottom line: Wix is easy to use and 100% customizable exactly to your liking so you can build the site you want.

3. Easy SEO Integrations

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a crucial element of website building. Good SEO is what helps your page to rank in search engine results when a web user searches for keywords relevant to your business.

This means that someone who may not have otherwise known about your business now has an opportunity to discover you and potentially become a customer.

Wix does not sleep on SEO. With the Wix SEO Wiz, optimizing your web pages is super easy. All you have to do is answer a few questions about your business and your target market, and the Wix SEO Wiz generates an SEO plan for you. The Wix premium plan also has a Site Booster feature that helps you instantly add your website to Google and other search engines and gets your business listed in local directories. The Visitor Analytics tool also helps you to review and analyze consumer behavior on your site as well as stats on your site’s performance. This data provides helpful feedback for future improvement of your website.

Squarespace also has built-in SEO capabilities. WordPress has none. With WordPress, you would have to search for specific SEO plugins to get the features you need.

Bottom line: Wix makes SEO easy… its built-in SEO features guide you through the process to help you get ranked.

4. The App Market

The Wix App Market is the place to go for all the integrations you need to make your website even more robust. From email marketing to Google ads to social proof and everything in between there’s a plug-and-play app for that.

And though there are hundreds of apps in the App Market, you won’t get overwhelmed by options because of the apps are categorized so you know exactly where to go according to your needs.

Bonus Reasons

Other reasons why I love Wix are speed and security, and regular updates and improvements to the platform. Site speed, website security and user experience are important SEO metrics. Web users are an impatient bunch... if a site takes more than 3 seconds to load, a majority of users leave the site. Wix ensures that sites load rapidly and securely. Wix also takes customer feedback very seriously and is constantly improving functionality, capability and user experience with new website features.
